New Mount Zion M.B. Church

96th Church Anniversary

During the month of August we celebrated our 96th church anniversary and we enjoyed a glorious time.  The theme;  Building Upon the Foundation, scripture reference;  "According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon.  But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon." I Corinthians 3:10.  This years committee consisted of chairperson Sis. Ernestine Comer, committee members  Sis. Lanora Barrett, Sis.  Gwendolyn Monroe, Sis. Joann Porter and Deacon Sam Porter.

It began with our Family and Friends Night on August 19, with a Laugh Alert.  The committee designed a program to make us laugh and enjoy ourselves and it worked.  The Inspiration Choir provided song service and we had a great time.  The Sunday morning Worship service was officiated by Pastor Scott and Choir #3 rendered beautiful song service.  The anniversary message was delivered by our own Assistant Pastor, Rev. Bennett.  His Topic, It ain't over til God says it is over, scripture II Corinthians 2:4, 13, & 14 and Psalms 119:114.

Our afternoon Fellowship Service was held with our guest church Parkview Christian Center, where the Rev. Henry Babers is Pastor.  The opening sond service was done beautifully by our Youth Choir.   The Parkview Christian Center came to visit us in great numbers and their choir delivered beautiful song service.  Pastor Babers spoke from our theme and did an outstanding job.  We had an awesome time fellowshipping together.

Our decorating committee did an outstanding job with theme colors of Blue and white.  The culinary committee did an excellent job as usual, preparing delicious food and executing flawless service.

Thank God for 96 years, and May God continue to Bless New Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
